Hey guys!
The latest little mystery I'm dealing with is a parasitic draw that keeps draining my battery if the PV sits for more than a few days. I disconnected the negative battery cable, and using my multimeter I discovered that there's a draw of around 90 milliamps regardless of which fuse I pull (even the 25A main fuse). This seems a bit high for a car with no radio, clock, etc.
I upgraded the charging system a few years back with Ron Kwas's alternator conversion. It's running the AC Delco alternator that was recommended with the kit. The other non-standard electrics are a Crane Cams electronic ignition and the wiring associated with the M41 upgrade.
Is it possible that the alternator itself is causing the draw down? I seem to recall reading somewhere that a problem with the regulator can cause this.
In lighter news, I think I traced my rough running problem on warm starts to a stuck carb float, which was flooding one carb until the car was rolling down the street. So now I just need to rebalance the carbs, and hopefully that will be the end of that. And I'm still plugging along on the interior....
Thanks in advance for the help!
Ethan
