The tail gunner seat was a dealer option for the 245. If you want to see something scary though, look at how the front bumper of a Suburban lines up with the back of a 245 at stock ride height! Were talking decapitation at best!

No. They were an option.

I think all years (at least the later ones) have threaded holes for the installation though. Example: underside of the flip-up door in the rear floor, above the rear window for the upper seat belt bolts.

I just installed one in my 1992 and still had to drill about 9 holes though.
