auto tranny fluid leak getting worse 200

after much cleaning, (and replacing the shifter shaft seals) it looks like the leak is coming from the kickdown cable. Do I REALLY have to replace the kickdown cable to stop this leak?

If the neck of the kick down cable shroud is broken (snapped), then the cable must be replaced. If it isn't snapped, you can remove the cable and install a new O-ring. The problem with just replacing the O-ring is that you've done all the work but haven't replaced a worn cable that will inevitably fail.
