16inch wheels from960 on my 240 any problems with fitment? 200 1988

I have the opportunity to get 4 16inch rims with newer michelin xse tires 205/55-16. Will these fit on my 88 240 with out any problems?

I am running a set of 16 inch Volvo Hydra rims with 205x55x16. The Hydras were used on the 9 series cars. Note that our 92 is also lowered about an inch... no fitment issues, hopefully the pic below helps you identify the type of rim.

Forgot they do have 25mm offset. How is the handling? I have IPD bars on all my volvos.

Those are the rims and they look great. I am going to pick them up tommorrow. The best part is they are free.
      Thanks for all your input.

Congrats! I won't tell you (or anyone else) how much I paid for those refurbished rims! Lets just say I could have bought a decent donor brick! Note, that pic was with 205x50x16 rubber, but the 205x55x16 rubber still looks good, just a bit taller.

The only "gripe" I have with the Hydra rims on a 240 is when the steering wheel is cut all the way to one end or the other while getting out of a parking space, it feels like the front tire hop around a bit. That being said, the complaint is negligible compared to the at speed handling improvement! Simply awesome.

You didn't mention what 16 wheel you've got. I've got Hydra wheels, 6.5x16x25mm, fit (and look) fine on my 240.

The others are correct about avoiding those with excessive offset (e.g., 40mm). These Hydras have 25mm offset (stamped on the wheel as "ET"), just a cm more than the 240's standard offset of 20mm, and tolerable.

    It depends.

960 92-94 used the standard RWD offset of 20-25mm
    960 & s/v90 of 95-98 used FWD offset of 40-45mm

And those later ones with the FWD offset would not work on my 740, so I doubt they would on a 240. Problem was the tires hit the strut tube on the front.

Thanks for the heads up, these are from 960 RWD they have a 25mm offset. So I should be good.
