B20 heater hose 120-130

Is the heater hose that runs from the pipe under the manifolds to the heater valve different on a B20 from a B18?
Thanks.

I assume you are referring to the metal hose...?

I think there are two types, but they are more model specific, not engine specific. I think the change happened in '73 when they changed the 140 heater system, and as I recall, the only difference is the angle at the back end of that pipe meets the rubber heater hose.

I might be wrong on that.. best just to compare. I will say, if you get a B20 to replace a B18 and said B20 has the wrong type, you can use the one from your B18. Or possibly twist the other such that it works.

B20 heater hose 120-130

I have seen in exploded views of the heater setup that the metal pipe on a B18 when it turns behind the head turns up at a 90 degree angle towards the hood. the pipe on my B20 does not turn up but points towards the driver side fender. The rubber heater hose I purchased is a straight piece of hose which causes the hose to bend when conected to the metal pipe, it seems to be restricting the water flow.
Do I need a differnt pipe or a different hose?
Thanks,
Randy

You can probably find a molded hose with an elbow in it (probably too long) of the right size that
you can cut to fit. My 122 wagon has had green plastic hose that looks like garden hose -
it was obviously not new when I bought the car in 1984. It is long enough that the curves are gentle.
