Anyone please: Difficulty in changing out ignition coils.... 1999

Hey folks, I'm posting here because I never seem to get many, if any responses at all over in the AWD section....I know there are a lot of 240 wrenchers here that have other models...

Car: 99 V70 Turbo, AWD. Dealer says all 5 ignition coils are cracked and should be replaced. Admits that this is really odd and rare. Quoting $600.

Question: I see them at FCP for $50/ea. How difficult is it to change these out? Anyone have experience on doing this on a v70 or other like-designed Volvo?

Thanks!

I haven't even seen a V70 with the hood up so I can't help you much. Just looking at a picture of the coil setup on a vendor site, it looks straightforward enough; mount it to the bracket and connect the wires.

I would be very interested to know why all five coils are cracked. At that kind of money I wouldn't want to risk damaging new coils. I am guessing the car runs like crap as the original symptom. It might be worth a diagnostic fee to take it to an independant shop for a second opinion.
