Flame trap conundrum 200

So the PO of my brick must have replaced the flame trap hoses at one point, but I believe he got the wrong year of hoses, I have an 89. I keep reading that after 88 the flame trap was located above the intake manifold, for ease of access. Mine has always been below the fourth runner on the intake, and it never seemed to fit right. I was a bear to change, but after a lot of practice I can do it in about 8 minutes after an oil change. So I bought the iD relocation kit. Good stuff, good quality nice snug fit. But its all wrong for some reason. Did the oil separator boxes change over the years? Is it possible that my PO put in the wrong year box? iPD shows the bottom side hose coming up between the 2nd and 3rd runners. But there is no way I can do that. So I winged it, and I like my results. My girlfriend was less than impressed, so let me know what you guys think.

I used a straight 15mm PCV connector to connect the stock S shaped hose on top of the box to the iPD hose. I think its awesome.

Thanks,

Justin

Justin, what are those big objects bolted to the firewall?... 200

Justin,
Nice job on the flame trap relocation.
But your picture prompts a question -- what are those two large objects in the first picture, behind the flame trap and appearing to be bolted to the firewall? I don't recognize them. I've got an '84 and two '93s, but (along with even older 240s) I've never seen any things like these.

Thanks.
Ken

I always assumed they were for the cruise control which is non operational.

Yes, I believe those are for the old style cruise control.

Do you think the pedal actuators are designed to stay disengaged if there were to be no vacuum? I just want to remove those goofy bulbs, if only so I could instal the iPD rear cam seal plate.
