240 engine mounts 200 1986

After enduring a very noisy, rough 14.5 hour run to tow the newly acquired 780 back home with a solid, makeshift motor mount in the 245, I ordered the correct mounts from FCP Groton and got to work the other night changing them out. Actually, I was only going to change the right side mount as I had 3 years ago when we were sorting the car out. Ever since we have had this car there has been a problem with getting the trans shifter back into the 'Park' position. I noticed that the left hand side mount was broken when I jacked the engine up to replace the right side, and had been broken for so long that it was polished smooth on the mating surfaces. After getting both sides replaced (about 2 hours) The car was test driven by my wife and girls, who had experienced the noise and vibration first hand. They were amazed at how smooth the car ran and that the trans shifter now found the 'Park' position without a hitch.

Regards,
