when referring to a engine control unit what is the w/egr and w/o egr signify??

    EGR is a system to reduce NOx emissions by putting exhaust in your intake... "exhaust gas recirculation". I think it was a california only option. And I think it was turbos only. NA cars don't reach the high enough temps to produce NOx I think...

    Exhaust gas recirculation.Not all models have it.If you use an ECU for EGR on a car not so equipped,a CEL will indicate a DTC.:)
