2 Minute Duration Service Light: Reset Switch 200

Our 1993 940 servcie light comes on when the engine first starts and remains lit for ~ 2 minutes. Can someone advise me where I might find the switch to reset this light. I believe that it is normally reset when the oil is changed.

Many thanks,

OnlyVolvo

You can try the small button that is inside the hole on the lower
right hand corner of the instrument cluster. I have never been able
to use that button to reset the light, even with a small tool. It is
supposed to just push in to reset the light.

I recommend removal of the cluster so that you can see what the button
actually does when pushed in. After learning what and where the button
goes and the switch it switches you can do it with the cluster on in
the future, just by feeling around behind there.
Some folks will recommend removal of the bulb, but why?
It is a oil change reminder (3,000 miles).

    Good Luck,
    Joseph in New Mexico

There is a spot on the lower right part of the cluster that has a reset button. I don't have much luck re-setting it, so either ignore it or remove the bulb from the cluster. This is run off the speedometer and you can remove the the circuit board that triggers the light and it may also help same the odometer gears from failing. Dan
