Pulse Air System 900 1994

Does anyone know of an aftermarket source for the "Non-Return Valve" that is used in the Pulse Air System of the 940, 4 cylinder, 8 valve, Non Turbo Volvo? The Volvo part number is 3507332. I can't bring myself to go back to the Volvo dealer and get ripped off as I did earlier today when I paid $41.00 for a piece of rubber hose.

Thanks in advance.
Guy P.

Thanks to all. I just wanted to close the books on this one. I found one at my local foreign car parts store for $110 and it was a special order that would take a week. I then wandered down to Napa Auto Parts with the broken valve in hand and they were able to match it almost perfectly with one used for most older GM cars. Napa part number 2-29000 for $18.00. If anyone comes across this problem in the future I recommend this solution. It fits perfectly, no modifications or adaptations required.

Thanks again.

If you are not facing an underhood inspection from the smog cops, unscrew the valves and replace them with 1/2 inch pipe caps, then return that hose to the dealer.

Thanks guys for the help. I tried FCP Groton (my favorite Volvo parts place) and they could get me one (from Volvo) for $151. I called Volvo and they quoted the same $151. I would do the pipe cap trick but I need to get it smogged here in California in a few months and the pipe caps won't fly out here. I suspected that there must be an aftermarket equivalent so I think that I'll try to match one at the local parts store. Even if I can't find a perfect fit I'll bet you I can find one that will work.

Thanks again,
Guy P.

There was a post some time ago saying it is the same part used in a few GM(?) cars. Carry one into a NAPA. A counter guy with experience may come up with one.
BTW, I had a bad valve and it cooked the rubber adapter. I got replacements from Swedish engineering some years back.

Hey Guy,

Sorry to hear about the ripoff for the rubber hose. A good place to get original Volvo parts without the hassle and expense of the local dealer is Tasca Volvo (www.tascavolvparts.com) in Seekonk, MA. They sell to everyone at employee prices, and ship to your door. No sales tax outside of MA. Another place to try is FCP Groton (www.fcpgroton.com). Both are good places. I checked both of their sites, and could not find the part listed, but I am sure that Tasca can get it.

Regards, Jon 'Uncle Olaf'
