struts from 940 same as those on a 740?? 700 1989

My struts need replacing.I see some 940's in the local yard&they seem to be pretty new.
I wonder if they are the same as on my 740?I wonder if I can just replace them w/the same strut off the 940?

Whenever I get into these conversations, I'm reminded to be more definitive. I just replaced my front strut inserts (Friday past) along with bushings, ball joints, ets. This was on a '90 760 GLT.

As I looked over part lists, diagrams and ordered parts, I had to be clear that it has ABS, was a turbo, was a sedan and was a 1990. I see the same coming for the rear end. Sedan or wagon? Multi-link or live drive shaft? Nivomat?

If these are a match between your 740 and the 940, you might feel a very real quiver of excitement coursing through your body.

The "whole" strut assembly?...or just the insert?

The whole assembly will be different between ABS and non ABS cars.

All the 940's have ABS,so the whole strut should fit.You will need the 940 hubs, they have one piece wheel bearings.Count the teeth on the ABS wheel,if your car has ABS,the number must be the same.
