'93 240 25amp fuse 200 1993

Anybody know where my 25amp fuse is on my 93 240? It's not in slot #6.

I've never actually seen it, but an online diagram from this site refers to a "Pink Fuse" (Underhood Fuse Block) on page 22 of the '93 240 diagram. It feeds into the Fuel Relay terminal 30, and also branches off to the Fuel and Ignition ECUs.

My guess is that the fuse block is on the left fender rail (black plastic maybe). I don't know what kind of fuse it is, but the wire color would be Red.

I don't know about your 1993, but on my 1985, it's right next to the ignition coil (out under the hood on the driver's side).

That do hickey is a powerful tool : )

Its the diagnostic system for the LH fuel injection (2.4 in your case unless you have a manual, then you are part of the lucky few with LH 3.1) and the ignition system. With this, you can retrieve codes stored by the computers whether or not the check engine light is on as not all codes and conditions provoke idiot lights. You can also test the electronics on the injectors and such.

It's fun to trick unsuspecting girl friends with it by acting like you have no idea what you are doing, and when everything starts ticking, run as fast as you can away from the car shouting about explosions.

The 700/900 faq will tell you how to retrieve codes.

You don't have a 25 amp blade fuse by the battery. After 1990 they integrated it into the fuse strip, and I think its #6 for you, even though it might not be a 25 amp fuse. Bentley doesn't say much in the section on fuses (390-1 and 2) and my 240 is an '89, so I have the blade fuse, unfortunately and fortunately...

Justin

Thanks very much Justin. I'm looking forward to using that diagnostic system just the way you suggest. With regard to the 25amper, there is no fuse in my number 6 and no wiring going to it. Do you know the color of the wire for the fuse and then maybe I can see it attached to one of the other fuse slots.
Thanks a ton of donuts,
Rob

According to the print here

http://pliki.volvo.techno.org.pl/schematy/volvo_240__1993.pdf

Page 23

There is a four position fuse block under the hood, as follows:

Pink - 30A - Fuel ECU
Yel - 60A - Ign Switch
Grn - 40A - ABS Modulator
Blu - 20A - Cooling fan relay.

The fuse block is fed directly from the +side of the battery - red wire.

Added info:

When you bring up that site, you can look through a bunch of diagrams of the '93.

1. The diagram at the very bottom depicts the fuse block inside the car. Fuse #3, which feeds the heater blower, is 25 A. That should answer your original question, I believe.

2. Note that the fuse block under the hood (which I believe is not on all 93s) is actually integral with the positive battery connector.
