Brett,
I took your advice and got a couple of 240 aluminum bumpers for my 122 wagon. I'll post some pics once I have them installed.

Also, I was looking through some old posts and saw that you had sent photos to someone of a Crane Igntion on your 122. Could you send me the same or similar photos?

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Shane .... Just went and checked through all the pictures I have saved over the years and regret to have to inform you that I did not keep the pics of the Crane system ... It is possible that I may have uploaded them to the Gallery here on BrickBoard ... but be doggoned if I remember how to search them .... you might try searching the gallery under my name ... If I remember correctly, the pictures showed the installation of the wheel in the distributor and probably showed the other modifications made .... Perhaps the person I sent them to might chime in here and send you copies.

As far as the bumpers go, we brought the front bumper in close to the front end of the car and traced the outline of the metal on the top web of the bumper .... it was then removed and trimmed to the line using a reciprocating saw or perhaps a mini grinder and a cut off blade. I do remember it was a bi*ch of a job but made the installation look much better .... I was going to use the rubber bumper fairing off the original car to smooth in the installation but never got around to it .... eventually the rubber strip disappeared. I would suggest that you do much the same with the rear bumper .... Mine was cut down from a 240 bumper that matched the front but when the car rolled back and hit a tree the bumper snapped in two on the weld line .... this time when it was re-welded we reinforced it with 1/4" aluminum plates on the inside ... haven't had any problems with it since ... but then I haven't hit anything with it either:-0 . You might want to take a small V out of the center of the back bumper to have the shape more closely match the rear contour of the car ... just a suggestion.

Keep me informed how you make out ..

    regards

    Brett
