ABS components 900 1992

Greetings !
I need the location of ABS controller, associated relays, and fuses.
I've read many contradictory comments.
Thanks in advance.

    ABS components 900 1992

    Dear Studley,

May this find you well. On 940 series cars, the ABS controller - a silver box, about 7" long, 3" wide, and 2" tall - is mounted in a rack, above the driver's side footwell, and so beneath the instrument cluster. The ignition computer is also in this area.

In the same area, there is an "overvoltage protector" (Part #1363569). It has, if I recall correctly, a 10 Amp fuse, mounted in a holder on top of the device. This device is silver-colored, about one inch (25 mm) square, and about 1.5" tall.

The fuses are in the main fuse block, behind the front center console ashtray. You can find the fuse by consulting the table on the back of the ashtray.

    Hope this helps.

    Yours faithfully,

    Spook

The reason you have hear a bunch of different stuff is that the components and their locations varied from year to year. Up to 88, there was a relay with a 10 amp fuse on it up under the dash near the back of the instrument cluster. You can waste a lot of time looking for this relay on later cars because they don't have it.

The controller (ECU) is up under the dash too, mounted to the side of the pedal cluster, at least on 1st (to 88) and 2nd (89-90) generation ABS, probably on 3rd generation (91+) too (I'm not sure because I haven't had one of those yet.
