Engine stalls 700 1990

My '90 740 wagon has begun loosing power, then stalls. It restarts and runs OK, then repeats stallout. Is this a vacuum leak or an A/C related issue? Or something else?

Dirty fuel filter did this to me 700 1990

When the crude in your fuel filter packs up against the filter element, your car might stall out. When the car rests, the crude loosens up a bit and lets the car run normally until it all packs into the element again. The problem was pronounced at higher RPM operation in my case. The fuel filter is located under the drivers seat.

The only way I can think that your ac has anything to do with this is if the little relay that boosts RPM when you turn on the ac has failed so that you get rough stalling at idle. This relay is gray and found behind the glove box

If this is a Regina FI car running the original fuel pump, it could be on it's way out. A fuel pressure test at the fuel rail schrader valve should show about 36psi at idle, and 45psi with regulator vacuum hose removed and capped off.

Fuel pump is brand new and functioning properly. I'm looking at replacement of all vacuum lines. Thanks, KP

Check engine light on? Is there a fault code?

Negative.

When did it have it's last tuneup?
Common tuneup items could be at fault. Plugs, air filter, fuel filter,
vacuum leaks, etc.

Vac leak sounds like the most probable cause. Thanx, KP
