placement of windshield washer bottle 120-130

Need help in locating the spot for the placement of windshield washer bottle.
I have a 1964 2 door 122s, the previous owner removed the bottle and I would like to replace the reservoir. description of the location or pictures where it belongs would be of much help. Thanks

    Here is the picture.
It might be in a different spot if the car is right-hand drive.
but if its left hand drive it should be there or a little to the right. just look for the bracket (which is holding the bottle in- included in picture), if you have one.

This is the later type washer bottle. Luis has a '64/'65 and that would normally have a smaller round bottle up on the inner wing just in front of the hood hinges. Uses a seperate pump with an alloy cover. When these pumps go bad the system is usually converted to the later type as shown.
From various other posts I was surprised to find that Volvo sold Amazons in "dry/hot" parts of the USA without a washer system. That's maybe how the bag type got fitted, perhaps by the dealer or an earlier owner. I've got a bag type washer kit in a box with a oficial Volvo part # and info sticker on it. It's probably from the '70s. The kit was made in Japan!

Thanks! Not having a copy of the owners manual complicates things, but all of you make owning and restoring these cars much easier. Thanks for your input.

    Howdy,

    Volvoamazonpictures.se to the rescue:

Sorry, I can't add the html as a "Claim to be". Just cut and paste. The picture you want is on page 12 of 57. The washer bottle is located on the left fender well, just in front of the master cylinder. This is much different from my '66 that has it located on the right fender well. Hope that helps.

My 66s and 67 had them on the LEFT!
Some of the earlier ones had a flexible bag reservoir and a piston pump with a push
knob sticking out under the dash, i.e. my 1963 4-door.

Mine was on the left...I've since relocated it in front of the radiator...get's it out of the engine area completely.

Thanks all for the solutions. I installed the bottle on the drivers side in the area just behind and above the steering box.
Special thanks to sdwolf for the link to the owners manual.
          Luis
