b23f pistons 200

Hello,

After searching for a while, it seems that no one is carrying mahle pistons for the B23f engine. Does anyone know of a source for a set of oversized b23f pistons?
Actually, I can't find pistons of any brand online for the b23f.

Anthony

I rebuilt a B23E a few years ago, and found that there were no pistons for it at all. Volvo carried stock rings at $90.00 PER PISTON, but I did find some piston rings for a B23F, which are the same, and was told there were the last set in Canada. AFAIK, no one makes oversize pistons for the 23E or F. I also found it tough to get the intermediate shaft bearings, and did, and once again was told they were the last set in Canada, which is strange as they fit the B21 as well.
If you can find rings, find a good short block and ring it, as these engines don't develop much of a ring ridge in the cylinder, and the pistons wear well. I did have to use two engines to make up a full set of un-scuffed pistons. The skirts get worn if the engine is driven hard during warm-up, and that's why they scuff. But the ring grooves are always perfect.

I just bought a 88 245 with a blown motor. I need oversized pistons if I am going to rebuild and I am having the same problem locating pistons. I hope someone has some leads.....

Have you checked with all the nice volvo enthusiasts over at turbobricks.com ?

They may have more info on where to source internal engine parts...

...they will probably also try to convince you to turbocharge your brick...
