Going to Oregon 444-544

Well, ive been pretty buisy with work, and havnt had much time to start any new big projects for the volvo, or have as much time on the computer. Aug. first im done with work and will be taking a train (unfortunatly not in the 544) but still an adventure, to Portland, Oregon. If anyone is in and or around the portland area and wants to talk old volvos for a bit, ill be in the area from Aug. 1 to Aug.12.

Abram

Portland is a great place!

As Chris says, several of us get together somewhat regularly and you'd be welcome to join us. Same goes for anyone else in Volvo Land.

And the Tukwila thing looks like it'll be a good time - if you have the time to spare, you're welcome to ride up with me.

Other things to do in Portland: visit the Rose Garden; visit Powell's Books; take a jaunt to Multnomah Falls; tour the Shanghai Tunnels. If you're shopping for Volvo parts, you'll want to visit Chris as well as another place that has one of the largest vintage parts inventories on the west coast (and doesn't ship UPS, so it's a local resource).

Stop on by!

There are a few of us around that have old Volvos. Normally we try to get together the last Sunday of the month. It's a pint or two the middle of the afternoon at one of the brew pubs in town. There are a couple of PV that some times show up but mostly it's 122 and 1800. I have a couple of PV but they are just field cars at this point. Cameron may poke his head into this conversation. He has a nice 444 and you can always lust after his supercharged 122....

Yes, IPD is over by the airport, but they mostly a mail order place so there is very little on display.

Why not take a little side trip? The Puget Sound VCOA Regional meet is August 8-10 in Tukwila, a scant 3 hours north of Portland....

That's too bad. Why?

The note I read indicated that the cancellations were outpacing the registrations. Blame was placed on Gasoline prices and other expenses that are outpacing the CPI.

I was planning on driving my 544 out there from Kansas City - Are the people in Washington, Oregon and Northern California frugal or what?
