Found this while I was looking around for a clue to my current problem 200 1989

What is this? The car runs even though nothing is connected to it. Should I be freaking out?

If you spend several afternoons with a cleaning brush and some solvent, it probably won't look like that. It might teach you why they are called RedBlocks. Someone didn't keep the engine clean.

Yeah, cleaning has been slow going. The other side is immaculate, well nearly. I am undoing many years of PO neglect, unfortunately. I get bored and I snoop around the engine to find future projects or clean a little here or there. I found my pressure switch wires wrapped around the steering shaft this way : )

Fortunately she isn't leaking oil.

Justin

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

I believe Volvo engineered an automatic undercoating system; a tiny bit of oil is meant to spray at all times to thoroughly coat the underside of the car, thus ending the possibility of rust.

Hey Sean,

That is so true. I'd rather wipe oil than scrape rust any day.

Art,
Haven't you figured out a way to get sound out of your avitar? I wonder if that is a 4 banger or a 6 :)

So it's supposed to look like that then? I mean, not dirty and all, but cap-less and exposed like that?

Justin
