Vernet and Calorstat the same company?? 200

I bought a Vernet thermostat for my 240. In the Vernet box is a Calorstat thermostat made in France. I've heard good things about Vernet and bad about Calorstat. Are they the same company or is this packaged incorrectly by someone. What are your opinions on this? Quality? I don't want a junky thermostat to stick shut on me.

I've never had either of the French brands. Most thermostats I've seen were made in Germany by Wahler. Their usual failure mode is that the crossbar breaks loose at one end and they remain open all the time, leading to poor gas mileage and no heat in cold weather, as the engine never warms up.
