M45 Input Shaft Conversion and Shift Plate

Hello,

I know I can use the coarse splined clutch disc to use the M45 on my 1983 B23F Conversion, but can I use the case, input shaft, and shift plate from a M46 to update the design?

BTW, Where are all the aluminum cases?

Thanks in Advance,
Goatman

    Hi,

In short, the input shafts are interchangeable. I wonder though which one is better?
Fat coarse splines, or many thin splines.

Please make some comments!! I could use a few insults!

    Hi again,

The gearbox cases are different for the early and late styles, so I will be unable to use the rear cover for the early M45 on the M46.
This makes the shift style conversion impossible.

I will still try to use the new style input shaft though!

Here are some pictures for you!
