variation in Idle speed while pressing brake pedal 200

If I press brake pedal multiple time in quick succession while car is idling the idle speed also dips up and down. I noticed it only today . Is it normal or idle should be constant whether brake pedal is touched or not.
The pedal as such retains assistance i.e.vaccume in the morning or when u press pedal before starting the car. The car suffers from a long term code 232.

Gopesh

I think I'd keep looking for a vacuum leak.

Your brake booster maintaining vacuum overnight tells you the booster is intact and the check valve is working, but it doesn't rule out vacuum seepage elsewhere. Applying boosted brakes puts a high vacuum demand on an idling engine and the additional demand of a vacuum leak could make the vacuum dip enough for the engine to struggle to compensate.

I hope this helps!

Thanks guys, I thought I was done with this 232. (NMI) 200

The two cars I have experience tinkering with - a Honda and my trusty 740 - do this. I figure the vacuum assist momentarily simulates a vacuum leak, and the idle richens for a second.

Am I right, other-and-more-wiser-ones?
