93 240 wiper relay location? 200 1993

My wipers on the 93 do all manner of weird things when I turn them on anymore, and the only way I can get them to go off is by turning the car off. I am assuming that this may be a problem with the wiper relay, but I have no idea where it is.

I read that on older 240s, at least, the wiper relay is underneath the driver's side under-dash felt panel, but I didn't see it anywhere under there. Am I not looking hard enough or has it been moved? I know that some relays were moved to the center console later in the 240's run. Was the wiper one of them? I don't really want to take it apart until I know for sure, because it's a massive pain to take that apart and reassemble, but I digress (^$#$^#@ grain of wheat bulbs!) Long story short, where is the wiper relay on this car? It's a 244, so there's no rear wiper. Any help is appreciated.

Down under the drivers foot on the late 80's models. Pull back the carpet and turn the key on without starting the motor. You should be able to hear it when it closes.

It may not be the relay by the way based on my history with wipers.

Check the ground under the wiper motor for green and black and clean as needed.

If that is alright the best bet is to replace that wiper motor. I had the would not stop, stop in the middle, stop at the top, no intermittent, no high speed, and worst of all a no go. Chased Grounds, the relay, and switch wiring. But there was only one cause for all those problems. It was the motor every stinkin time.

Went through four PUP motors with a different problem on each one. Bought a rebuilt one (took three of those) and the gremlins are gone.

If you do change the motor you will most likely need a new doughnut seal. That is a dealer part.

    Good Luck,

    Paul
