Can anyone decipher my ID plate ('59 445) 444-544

Thanks to all for taking the time to help me out!
Well, I learned that my car was repainted the original colors, although they may not be the exact Volvo colors. And, that the interior color was changed (thank God!).
I am so glad to have found you guys. I hope you don't mind but in my excitement of finding my 445 & desire to have her back on the road i will be posting many questions! We seem to be a very small group & I need everyone of you! Thanks again.
    Regards,

P44508M = P445, model type. 08, USA (07 for Sweden). M, year letter which covers Oct '58 to July 1960. Last of the split screen models.
    Chassis #27073 = M series ran from 26001 to 37755.
Color: 43 = Rubinrod - grabeige (2 tone red and off white)
Uphols: 204-117 = Gul - svart (Yellow and black (!)). The Swedish text I have is a bit beyond me but I'd assume that the seats have a smooth black vinyl at the front of the squab and the yellow is a textured material for the rest. Same with the seat backs but with the black vinyl at the top. Door panels 2 tone and rear side panels black only (? for rear seat side area).

    I hope that helps.

Can anyone decipher my ID plate ('59 445) 444-544

      Hello Derek,
I'm resurrecting this thread because I'm considering re-doing my interior. A couple years back you indicated the chassis plate on my car indicated the interior color was yellow & black - the exterior color is red & white. That seems, at a minimum, a little odd, don't you think? Are you sure about that? :)
      Thanks.
      Jim

My guess is that the Vin tag is wrong. I can't image why they would have a combination of a red/white exterior with a yellow-black interior?

Seems that your car came in three colors and three interior colors, with one interior matching one exterior like:

44=Pearl grey / Beige 204-117 Yellow-black vinyl, beige vinyl, black vinyl

35=Midnight blue / Beige 205-136 Blue vinyl, Black vinyl

        43=Ruby Red / Beige 217-154 Red vinyl. grey-black galoness

You really only have the choice of 217-154 for red/white 43 car.

        That interior (217-154) is available:

          Hello Paul,
          Thanks for your reply.
Guess what? Rob, from over at Volvotips (here: http://www.volvotips.com/) actually found another red/white Duett like mine that also had a yellow & black interior! It's here:
          http://www.speakeasy.org/~jwilton/volvo.html
So, I asked Johan at VP autoparts to send me some samples.
          Should be interesting. :)
Perhaps the original owners were color-blind? :)
          Regards,
          Jim
