Loud Noise from Rear End 1983 240 200

Hello again,
On my 83 240 after driving for more than about 15-30 minutes, when I take off from a dead stop the rear end (emergency brake, axle) gives off a loud metal on metal hum sounds like something turning.

The noise sounds like it's inside a cylinder or large metal tube.

The noise goes away after about 10-15 feet of driving.

Sometimes the noise does not appear, but once it starts it continues usually
until the end of my drive.

Any Ideas or solutions would be appreciated.

    Its not uncommon for the emergency brake pads to become separted from the shoes. When this happens the can generate noise as they float around inside the drum. I've had it happen on more than one 240.
