The 240 overdrive is out. The light did not work but i could hear the relay clicking when i pushed the button. I got under the car, and sure nuff, the wire was cracked and bare spots were visible. I got up to the shifter and started pulling the wire out up thru the shifter to replace it when bam, i forgot to turn off the power and when that naked wire hit the shifter sparks flew. I then turned off the key and finished re doing the wire. When i tried to get the shift overdrive switch to work, nothing, not even a click in the relay. I am going to the junkyard to pull some relays (i probably blew mine). So where I am at now:
1. Arrow light out
2. Car overdrive not working, it is constantly in tow mode
3. Relay probably blown
My questions: does the solenoid on the tranny go out very often or is this probably just a relay or did I short out the switch on the shift knob? Also, does anyone have a wiring diagram for this switch/solenoid/relay circuit they could post or email me. My manual does not have that detail. Thanks
