240 parts - fuel pumps and? 200

I've been buying most of my parts from FCP Groton. Learned about them here. 2 questions:

1. Is this the preferred vendor? (In the opinion of folks here.)

2. Seems like FCPs eBay prices are lower than their phone-in prices - which makes no sense as they have to pay eBay fees of course. Does that seem to jibe w/ your experiences.

3. Is there another source for fuel pumps? I need 2-3 and it's tough at $155 each. I expect the answer will be that non-Bosch pumps are cheaper but probably not worth having.

I would say it is unusual to have a need to replace that many pumps. Have you confirmed that you have that many in need of replacement.

    Any recyclers around your area?

      240 parts - fuel pumps and? 200

I have several 240s - a couple I just purchased and am getting road-ready. Have I confirmed that I need that many? For a couple of these cars I want new pumps and filters. I've yet to find a good way to predict fuel-pump failure.

On the 91 I had 2 mains fail last week. One as it happens was a junkyard part a friend bought and then gave to me. It ran 10 minutes or so. Cheap as I may be, used electrical parts seem a bad value.

I buy whole parts cars whenever I can. Junk yard parts don't work out for me - I don't care to deal with them and, more important, it's much cheaper to buy a whole car.

      Thanks for your comments.
