Life of Bougicords and plugs 700 1987

Hi folks,

I think my Bougicords are original. There's no date code on them - they just say Type F.

Also, I don't know how old my plugs are, and will change them tomorrow or the next day. What life can I expect from NGK copper plugs from FCP Groton?

Thanks.

Ari

Before you go out and spend money, pull the plugs and clean them. Look at the center electrode coming out of the bottom, if it is rounded, then replace them. If they are still flat, then just check the gap and put them back in.

Bougicords last from 100-150K miles, longer than a cap and rotor. Great stuff.

The copper plugs get 30k miles before recommended replacement. I installed NGK Iridium plugs in all four cars and they last forever, easily 100k miles. You do have to loosen and re-torque them occasionally so they don't seize up in the head. Use antiseize on installation and a 40% lower torque setting.
