what brakes 1987 245dl? 200

Hi:
I have a 1987 245 wagon. Any way I can assume what brakes without jacking up car and looking? I know eeuroparts list only one rear rotor, etc. saying vented in front solid rear. They have been quite good on price and service. However I have run across a closeout with super prices but they have more details such as vented rotors for girling front for 87. I would think this would fit all.I assume I have ATE front vented and Girling solid rears. Any comments? The closeout will not last long. Since I have more $$ in this car than I should I plan to redo all brakes, etc. so I can drive it a long time. The closeouts are name brands, BTW. Thanks. (I'll bet TRichard knows the answer).

Ken C has got it right.
Your 1987 has Girling brand calipers in the front with vented rotors and ATE brand calipers with solid rotors on the rear. Being a 1987 model, there's no question.

If you really get stumped, give Dale Bronson a call (Dale Bronson Garage) in Greenwood. He is probably the best indy for eurocars in Central Indiana. Tell him his Tennessee Cousin said hi.

I would be more inclined to say Girling front, and ATE rears. Look in the rear compartment under the lid, and you will find the brake code for the car. If you have a manual, they will give you the translation for the codes. My 85 has Girling calipers front with Brembo Solid rotors, and it has ATE rear calipers with Brembo solid rotors. Again, it all depends on your code.
