intercooler hose clamps 700

I have decided to replace the hoses on my 740 turbo as with the exception of one, they all appear original and i think this could be causing my driveability problems (or at least its something i can eliminate before i bring to a mechanic).

anyway, my new hoses and clamps from FCP groton showed up, but the old clamps had these sort of clips on them that would keep them near the front of the hose where are the replacement clamps do not have these clips. are these clips neccessary? the new clamps are suppossedly volvo OEM parts.

had much can a bad turbo or throttle body hose effect the driveabitly, my problems seem to occur most noticeably under heavy acceleration and at high rpm's and boost.

Aside from holes and splits that can occur anywhere the one that usually causes most of the turbo problems is the intake hose coming from the air filter box. Oil from the turbo tends to sit in the hose all the time right where it clamps onto the turbo. Over time the hose softens and then starts to collapse during hard turbo use when it's forcefully pulling in alot of air. This is agrevated when the air filter starts getting dirty.
