snow driving and chains?

hey folks,
Just wondering (as i've never driven a rear wheel drive in the snow) if it is better to put chains on the front or the rear wheels? Front for steering? Rear for traction?
Kevin

Rear. Remember, you'll have ok steering while driving, but when on the brakes it may want to push straight a little.Drop a gear or so and use the tranny to control speed so you can avoid uncomfortable situations.
