OD rebuild 120-130

I will e removing my 122 from storage soo, nad would like to have the OD rebuilt. Are there kits available, or a reliable source that I can send my OD too to have it rebuilt. I was having a problem with the OD not disengaging. I completely verified the electrical system, and all is well, so the problem is inside.

You say that the electrical system is ok. Does that include the solenoid? Does it click when you put current to it, does it rattle when you shake it?

What OD do you have? D-type (solenoid on the right side) or J-type (solenoid on the left side).

Thanks for the replys, the trans and OD ar from a 71 1800 that had 46000 mils on it. As for the solinoid I changed it(had a spare) with no change in opperation. The OD engages but is reluctant to disengage.

When the solenoid is engaged it pushes a plunger/rod in. This rod is a valve with a very small hole up the middle and diverts the presurised oil to work the clutch cones. This valve can get get blocked or partly gummed up. It does have a return spring and should drop when the solenoid is disengaged but due to the blockages it holds the pressure. Normal release time isn't instant but is quick as the oil pressure is released through the small holes. If blocked the release time increases depending on how bad it is but will usually release overnight in the worse cases. Don't use reverse when OD is engaged. The valve is behind the centre of the 3 plugs on the underside of the OD and I guess it could be taken out from under the car but best done on the bench. It should just need a good clean in kerosene. OD experts chime in here please to correct me if all that isn't true!
