Hi All,
I've been having a real fun time with my 740. Basically after a month of troubleshooting and slowly replacing parts, it came down to an ignition switch failure, which has now been corrected.
The weird thing is, the starter would turn over the whole time, but no power to anything else.
Now, the key in the ON position, bridging the starter with a screwdriver, the car will start and run fine. However, using the key to turn to the "start" position, cuts power to the whole ignition/fuel system, but still cranks the starter...there is just no spark or fuel.
What would this indicate? the things I've replaced so far:
coil
hall sensor
powerstage
fuel pump relay
wiring harness
ignition switch.
So, can anyone help me, or do I have to resort to installing a "Start button"? :)
Thanks in advance.
