I thought some of you guys would enjoy this. As I understand it, in Sweden a sixteen year old cannot get a license. But a sixteen year old can drive a traktor.

Apparently the Swedish government's definition of "traktor" deals with top speed and seating capacity. The engine is governed and gear limited to a maximum of 30KPH and no more than two seats. The rest is up to the imagination of the teenager. When he turns 18, he can pull the extra gearbox and remove the throttle stop. Voilá, a custom ride for the college bound automotive engineer in waiting. Some of them are pretty darned cool. I especially like the yellow one the :58 mark in the video. Lots of chop, channel, sectioning and talent in that one. WARNING: Music content. MUTE this if you are in the office. ;-)

Hm, well, kind soul as I might or might not be, I fear that if I offer translations of Eddie Meduza lyrics I would be expelled from the BB for life. Having said that, this one is not that foul-languaged though. The theme of the song is that he's "the world's best driver" - and that's why he's driving drunk in the middle of the road.

Thank you, Erling. I was able to struggle through the computerized translation enough to see that almost all his songs refer to sheep, body functions, women, drinking, Hank Williams, or cars. All those things are related to his manhood (which, according to Eddie, is of unusual size) in some way. Are Eddie's songs played "on air" over the radio? If so, do little old ladies complain? ;-)

I assume the song we were listening to was Epa-Traktor? That song in particular seems to touch on all the subjects listed above except Hank Williams.

You seem to have got the drift!
As I'm in Norway I had to do a quick search and found Eddie Meduza's songs on several of Sveriges Radios (Swedish Broadcasting Corporation's) playlists. Perhaps The Little Old Ladies here in Scandinavia are not quite as trigger-happy as those you're used to Over There, but I'm only guessing.

The song was in fact not EPA-traktor, but Världens bästa chauffeur (The World's Best Driver). I haven't found the lyrics for this one though, sorry. One of Eddie's many hits is the song Volvo, by the way.
