real time help needed! 120-130

I am trying to replace my cam gears, but I cannot get the crank pully off to get tthe cam cover off.

Is the center bolt for the crank pully counter clockwise to get off ? (regular lefty loosy style) or clockwise?
need help, been working for a while and I will not loosen.

thanks
Kent

It isn't metric and it isn't 15/16", it is 13/16", just like your spark plugs.
I usually do it with a box wrench, sometimes with a spark plug socket.

Dude I JUST did this an hour ago.
    YES its normal lefty loosie
18 to 24 inch breaker bar with 15/16 socket
put the socket on and set the other end on the ground (driver's side)
    BUMP the starter
It worked so easy for me

You just did it? cool, how did everything work out?

So are there any tricks to putting on the new gears? According to the haynes manual, you have to align the marks on the gears, and also the gears are slotted so they only go on one way.

whats the best way to do it?

      thanks
      Kent

      P.S.
got the bolt off, with a long cheater bar! thanks for all the help

Normal threads. It's a big bolt, thogh, might take some muscle to budge it. And then there's the issue of stopping the crank from turning while you apply all that force. Helps with a manual to put it in 4th and set the parking brake.
