FCP Groton and delivery to Canada 300

Good news for Canadians.

FCP Groton has a new deal with UPS, where UPS eats all the brokerage fees.

I just placed an order on Monday morning, and received it early Wednesday afternoon.

Now I can change my whole strategy to Volvo repairs. Used to have to shop elsewhere in emergency failure scenarios, because it would take 2 weeks for the parts to arrive from across the border.

This is great news! I am fond of importcarpartscanada.ca, Canadian suppliers with good pricing, lots of Volvo parts, ships from within Canada, and free freight over $75, but it is nice to have an alternative-the duty rates were a big hit to take when ordering from FCP.

Wow! I wonder how they accomplish that, since those brokerage fees are really hefty! Did FCPgroton.com tell you what the minimum order is? Those customs brokerage fees are gouging, plain and simple.

Like you, I try to anticipate what I will need and then place an order, which usually arrives in 7-10 days. Needing things in a hurry either results in expensive dealer parts (e.g. $30 intake manifold gasket for a B230F) or questionable "white box" parts at 3X the price of FCP from the local foreign car parts vendor...

I noticed the CDN dollar was above par again, so now is a good time to buy stuff from the States!

    Thanks for letting us know!

I see I did my famous "roll the scroll wheel while highlighted on a combo box" trick again; put this in the 300 forum. I hate how you can't post on brickboard such that anyone filtered on 200, 700, or 900 can all see the post. These filters should each show anything posted to "ALL".

Apparently, UPS wanted FCP Groton's business, and agreed to waive all brokerage fees on Canadian shipments.

There's no minimum order from FCP Groton, per se (not that I'm aware of, at least). Just a minimum shipment charge; believe they said $12, but it may have been as high as $15.

Hell, I could have ordered just a timing belt, and had it delivered to my door in two days for $17 + $12 = $29. Canadian Tire doesn't even carry it, and NAPA doesn't stock it, so my only option for same day would be to drive to the dealer and pay I think $57 for it. That's at least an hour and a half of my time and gas and wear and tear. It's a no-brainer.
