No Start 1990 240 wagon

Well , I had this thing running beautiful..then started to have a rough idle and smelled very rich. Stalled a couple of times, started right up, now does not start but turns over. Code before the no start was 113. Can an O2 sensor create a no start condition? I have checked all injectors , they are all quite new , installed about 15000 miles ago. New crank sensor also .This went from running very well to no start in 2 days. I have a strong feeling it is a O2 sensor but confused about the no start situation.

1 - The O2 sensor doesn't come "online" until after the engine starts.

2 - For the 113, try removing and cleaning each of the two grounding wires on the fuel rail brackets. I think the front one is for the ECU, but do them both).

The 113 code is detected by ECU sampling the current in the common Injector ground, which finally terminates at one of those two ground points . The problem may be either too little or too much current. Some possible causes are:

    a) Too little current — A break (open circuit) on the ground side, or a varying (poor) ground connection. Or a +12V supply failure on the common positive side (supplied by the fuel relay*)—causing the ECU to see nothing on the ground side.

    b) Too much current — Could be a short circuit to ground on any injector, or between their common point and the ECU. This fault is less likely, IMO.

    * Try connecting the LEFT side of fuse #4 to the LEFT side of any fuse 6 thru 10 (+12V source).
The pumps will run immediately so try starting.
The jumper bypasses the 25 Amp fuse and the Fuel relay—both are known no-start suspects.

Post back after you've cleaned the grounds and tried the fuse jumper.

P.S. Do you have spark at the plugs while cranking?

Thanks , first of all I did try to jump pumps, did hear pumps working but no start. Today when I went to start the wagon it started but still ran a bit rough. I followed thru with your suggestion as to the cleaning of the grounds to the injectors. When I restarted the wagon it ran smooth. Checked the codes and no codes except 1-1-1. However I still smell a very rich exhaust. There is no code showing for a faulty O2 sensor but as I have a new fuel pressure regulator my guess it is the O2 sensor. Does anyone have any other thoughts? thanks in advance!!

Damn..I put a O2 sensor in and walla..about a couple on minutes of getting the readings corrected and now it runs so smooth..I also got a 232 code so the O2 was the culprit..
