20' wheel source fro my 240? 200

Does anyone here know of a source of chrome 20" wheels that will work on my '82 245? Thanks, Charles

For an 8" wheel, you want 15-20mm offset. You aren't likely to find off the shelf 20x8 wheels in 5x108mm (4.25") with that offset. But you might be able to find high offset wheels in a 5 bolt pattern that could be fit with adapters. The tire size would almost have to be 225/30/20, but with some fender lip work and perfect offset, you could fit something slightly taller or wider.

19" would be easier and better because you can use a taller sidewall, which would be nice if you plan to actually drive the car on the street. 18" with 225/40/18 fits easily and will withstand potholes.

These are 20", but the project was not finished.

I fear you'd have to do some serioius modifications to make them fit. Biggest I know of are these:

The car belongs to Patrik J., Sweden.
Wheels are Racing Dynamics RGQ for BMW E39 (5x120 ET13) 8½x19", painted in Aston Martin Stronsay Silver. Tires: 225/35-19 Bridgestone Potenza RE050A front, 235/35-19 Hankook Ventus K104 rear.

Bolt pattern is 5x 108mm, so some Ford rims will match it. As for a wheel that fits, good luck, there's 10 million of them out there.

Are you serious? Not to be knocking your taste or anything but in my opinion I really do not think 20's would look good on a 240. 16's is the largest I would go maybe 17's if you had some serious horse power and suspension modifications. 20's are really going to be heavy and going to make your car look like a piece of farm equipment.

If you are serious about 20's I guess you could get some type of spacers/adapters and fit almost any rim to your car. I am sure you will have to trim some sheet metal to make them work.

Biggest size rim I've heard of on a 240 was a 17", and that took fineness to make it work. What you are talking about is an all out hack job to the body and inner fenders to make room. Where to find the rims are the least of your worry. This smells like an effort that would match a V8 or mega turbo conversion... assuming you want rubber on those rims and not a single layer of duct tape for traction!

Wheel size doesn't matter. Tire size matters. 225/45/17 fit a 240 easily, yet one could fit 19" tires that are the same height and are narrower. 225/40/18 are actually not difficult to fit on a 240. The front requires no work, just proper offset. The rear may require nothing depending on ride height, but often needs a little fender lip rolling/trimming.
