Brake Caliper Rebuild Kits 900

I'm thinking of buying brake caliper rebuild kits for my '93 944T.
Are these worth the $25 each and has anybody done this type of repair.
I flushed and replaced front rotors, all my pads and a new master-cylinder about 6000 miles ago, in the hopes that I would have a less spongie feel to my brake pedal to no avail.
The car brakes fine but you have to press it allmost down to the floor. It is fine for me but other family members think it won't brake. This is especially noticeable after driving the Mini which brakes very well.
Is it worth doing the caliper kit replacement or should I go with rebuilt calipers for $100 each?

Good morning EJO,

Can you elaborate on the "spongie feel" of your brakes? The fix may not be new or rebuilt calipers. A truly soft pedal (a pedal that never gets firm) is caused by air in the system. Excessive pedal travel with a firm brake at the end of travel is a compliance issue. Have you replaced the hoses?

ABS considerations change service procedures from non-ABS systems. Different hardware too; make sure ABS parts are used on an ABS system. Be sure to follow all instructions carefully when bleeding an ABS equipped car.

Shannon,
Thank you, air is what I thought too, but after flushing the (ABS) system and using a power bleeder twice, I do not have air in the system.
I do notice an un-equal pressure on the rotors, i.e. when braking feels like woble in NEW rotors.
When changing the pads I noticed one side traveling smoother and farther then the other side on two of my calipers.
I have no fluid leakage, level is the same since July did not drop a milimeter.
the spongie feeling is no brake feeling in the first 2" of pedal travel, after that you feel the braking action which is solid all the way down.
Hey I wish I was back in Muskogee, I would drive it up and you could see.
Thanks,
E-J

I'd just go with rebuilt calipers. I got mine from rockauto.com for $45 each plus refundable core. Good quality parts. Replace the hoses too, you'll have fun getting them loose from the lines.
