Ugly Betty: Chapter 4 .... new permutations 700

I think I mentioned that after seeing the 740 wagons last weekend I decided that Ugly Betty might be ugly, and a pain in the ass, but I have developed a grudging co-dependant relationship with her. If I keep feeding her coolant and top off the power steering fluid, she won't leave me stranded in the middle of a Minnesota winter. She always starts up even though she sits in an open parking lot. (Ever seen one of the first scenes in Fargo?) I keep reminding her about the kick-ass Michlin tire I gave her and the new brakes in the back.

Well after coming to terms with our twisted relationship, a friend of mine was stupidly back her van UP a hill and ran into the back of Ugly Betty breaking her tailight on the driver's side. (This is not the first time she has done this)

She doesn't want to go through insurance for this.

I told her that this piece would probably be spendy. She doesn't make a fortune, being a school teacher, but certainly is willling to pay for the mishap.

Anyone out there with an 89 740 driver's side tailight? Want to sell it?

Ugly Betty and I thank you for your time!

C.A., isn't your 740 a sedan? If so, the lights for a wagon won't fit. I think I have an ugly spare sedan tail light, but don't know which side it is for. I'm working every night until Christmas, but I will try to dig it out and see.

Yes, I need a left tailight for an '89 sedan. If you have one, that would be great.

Then there's always ebay - where I bought new OEM taillights for my 740. Also you can check SwedishEngineering.com and give them a call. They have alway come through with some good used parts for me.

I'll have the one thats on my car right now available in a few days, It has a small sliver of the reverse lens broken off. Its about 1/4" wide and 2"tall on the side next to the rear hatch, just the small part past where the lens seals to the housing, doesnt leak. Not that noticable but I wanted to eliminate the minor flaw on my car, if your not picky the price will be right. I think $10 + shipping would be fair. email me if your interested. I can email back a pic so you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.
BTW my car is a 945 but I think the taillights are the same.

Check out the non-OEM tail lights from IPD. They fit just like OEM. I bought 'em 'cause they were even cheaper than used ones from the local wreckers.
