Always wondered 200

Back in the late 90's I was part of a Quad4 Forum and a few of us knew we could use '84-'89 Bonneville springs for the front... Lowered the car an inch yet made for a firmer ride... Pretty cheap from the junkyard...

Has anyone got a database for what a 240 could swap out with?
Compression rates, overall heights and diameters?

You'd think this would be easy since most of the springs are closely similar

260's and Diesels have heavier front springs. When I installed an all aluminum Oldsmobile 215 V8 in a 1976 265DL my headlights were up in the trees. The 215 weighs less than the 4 cyl. and WAY less than the V6 I tossed out. I lowered the front springs and gained the advantage of the V6/Diesel higher rate.

Very understandable - Olds 215? Is that the Aurora V8?
Anyway - I'm looking for a way to beat the $250 for a slightly stiffer and lower ride coming from iPD...

May I recommend that you take your springs to a local spring shop and tell them what you want? A good spring shop can cut a spring, re-heat it and bring it to the ride height you want for cheap. If they can't, the last set of customs I had done (NOT 240) ran me $75 for a front set of two. Granted, not chrome or powder coated, but fully functional to my specs.
