Which engine mounts? 200

OK, the vehicle is a '92 245 @ 210K. Third engine mount renewal coming up... the no-names I installed a year ago are swollen and the clearance to the oil filter is at a minimum. Tonight's research shows vendors APA, Corteco/Freudenberg, and Westar. Which do I choose???

TASCA URL and price correction? 200

Rcsammy's Ford URL may work, but the one I use for VOLVO parts look-up is http://www.tascavolvoparts.com//index.do
    Phone orders 800-784-5149

And the the price is actually only $24.93, as copied today from the Tasca site.
    274110-6 $35.54 [list] $24.93 ["online price"]
RUBBER CUSHION KIT [this is the Left side (small) mount]

Note the different part # for the Right side:
    274111-4 $35.54 [list] $24.93 [online price]
RUBBER CUSHION KIT [Right side should be bigger]

Some aftermarket places just sell a pair of the smaller Lefts (274110)

      Lucid,
I still get $35 and change when I go thru the drill down using your link. What am I missing?
      Thanks, rcs

I don't use the "drill down". I use the "Search by OEM part Number" at the lower part of the URL page.

To find the OEM Part Number, I have an old (1992) Volvo Quick Reference Parts catalog. OEM numbers are also found on sites like FCP and IPD. But those OEM numbers are usually missing the critical "check digit" (dash number at the end).

The check digit can be calculated, but if the basic OEM number comes up with "no parts found", I try it again with a -1 then -2, etc. until I get a hit.

Also. I don't try to order online. I call the phone # and tell the parts person that I'm looking at the website, and confirm the lower price that comes up on the OEM Part Search.

    Which engine mounts? 200

rcsammy beat me to the punch on this one.

I noticed that I was having trouble with my steering a few years back. I looked under the hood and noticed that the passengers side motor mount was headed south. I called Tasca Volvo and ordered two new ones. The original equipment lasted 14+ years I didn't see any reason to risk using some other brand's product.

I think I remember removing the oil filter to get better access to the one on the passengers side, and I think I had to use a jack on the lip of the oil pan to help facilitate the removal of the one on the drivers side. Wasn't a bad little job, but I took my time so that I ended the job with all of my fingers intact. I also think I had some blocks of wood under the engine as a back up in case the jack were to slip loose.

Recently, I remember seeing a picture where someone suspended a piece of metal across the front fenders and a piece of threaded rod attached to the loop of metal that is behind the thermostat housing, then using the threaded rod to raise and lower the engine.

    Good luck with this project.

      Which engine mounts? 200

I've swapped engine mounts on 240's probably a half dozen times now... I was just wondering about which brand of mounts to use. Thanks for your input.
