I have only about 3 mm of brake pad left on the both the front and rear wheels. There are a few brake pads to choose from. Has anyone got one that they tried and liked or one that they tried and regreted?

I'll offer some strut info in return. I installed those Bilstein heavy duty struts and those things seem to bite into the road. They feel the pebbles on the road but I could dodge a dog at 70 MPH. More on strut installation in the driveway later

i recently (1000miles ago) put EBC ceramics up front with new brembo rotors. These things work really well and seem to be pretty clean, but untill they get fairly hot they squeek like hell. It is actually a little obnoxious. now i dont have brake probs...i have traction probs....

Thank you all. The internet offers and sometimes pushes, those ceramic ones that leave no black dust. But do they stop the car? Do they modulate or just grab suddenly ? Some are soft and some not. Some eat rotors. I guess I'll go with Volvo's own and get brown dust on the wheels

I recommend the stock Volvo pads. Instant bite and good fade resistance. I don't understand the willingness of many people to get lesser brake performance in exchange for cleaner wheels, so my suggestion is go for best braking performance.

This is probably not the right forum for the V70 since it is NOT RWD but anyway,
I was fed up with the dirt the OEM pads put on my pretty wheels on my S60T5.
I put on Mintex pads which I got from IPD and have been happy with them - They are
somewhat cleaner. When I get close I'll put some on my V70T5 also. They are a lot
alike in many ways.

The OEMS were putting sticky black dust on the wheels of my S60 and IPD
recommended Mintex, which they sell (as do others).

I got a set and put them on myself (once I checked VADIS to see the trick in
getting the calipers off) and they are somewhat better. Braking performance
does not seem any different but I don't push them very hard.

If you post in the FWD/AWD forum you will probably get more informed answers.

I think most will recommend the stock Volvo for being good and not noisy, but they wear faster, OTOH I have been using the cheapest stuff from Checker (partsamerica.com) and have been OK. I'm not picky though.
