At the base of the windshield just forward of where the glass seats at the bottom, there are tiny holes in the upper cowl. These were present in my '91 245 and they are covered by the rubber trim, and might be obscured by glass adhesive if too much is used in a replacement job. I learned this, like everything else, the hard way.

Well, prior to having a new windshield installed in my 1985 245, umbeknownst to me, it was draining down the A pillars and into the passenger compartment, where it migrated to the rear seat floor pans. The new windshield, with it's improved sealing method has made the water go where it's supposed to go, that is out over the cowl, and down the fenders to the ground. There were no drain tubes to be found in the old windshield plenum.
