Volvo 220 Tailgate Lockset Installation? 120-130 1968

Hi All,

Has anyone replaced the lockset in a Tailgate "T" handle for a 122 wagon before? I have a lockset with a ruined lockset in it (with no key), and a new lockset with key that I would like to install.

I'm hoping someone may have a walkthrough and or an exploded diagram of the handle/lock itself. I'm probably going to give this a try myself, as the locksmiths in my area don't want to even touch it.

Thanks.

take the interiore panel off, remove the nut holding the door latch controll bars, there s a large flat C clip that holds the t handle assembly in place. Can't remember what holds the barrel in the t handle probalbly a small slot head screw. not hard, mechanical assembly 101, basicallly a small jigsaw puzzle, in 3D with some rotating parts.

    Hello,

    It is not difficult.

Just note the order of the removal of the parts so that you can reassemble correctly.

Of course this assumes that any previous repairs, if any, were done correctly.
