gritty oil on turbo coming from? 700

Hello all thanks for your help w/ my pcv system. Well my question now is on my 92 745t w/ 227K I have developed a gritty oil coating on the turbo on the coupling to the hot air pipe to the intercooler. THis coating is only on the drivers side of the coupling and is all over the turbo's I.D. tag. I am wondering if this is blowby or what? I want to clean that area up with some thing any suggestions on a chemical preference. I hope snuggin up the clamps cures this issue any thoughts, experience w/ this? I just changed the oil and filter,(Mann)less than 100 miles on mobil 1 10w 30. While replacing the pcv system I removed the egr valve and found that the pipe from egr to intake manifold was clogged shut. I removed and soaked in brake cleaner over night. Replaced the gasket and reattached. My second question is what effect would this have on engine performance, reliability, etc . Thanks again!!!!!!!!!
