I have a 1992 245, 154k. I am getting a ticking/clicking noise from the dash, which is consistent with the tire revolutions. It's NOT coming from the tires. It sounds like a gear brushing against something, at a faster rate the faster the car goes. The speedometer, odometer and tripmeter work fine.

Suggestions much appreciated...

Bet you it is the gears in the Speedo that drive the Odometer.

You may have some Odometer issues headed your way soon.
