Power antenna doesn't work 700 1988

Sorry for the blank post. I bumped the enter key by mistake. Please delete the other post. I have an 740 88 wagon and the antenna isn't working. I cannot get a sound out of the motor by turning the radio on and off. Is there a way to test the motor to see if it is the problem? I checked the RWD faq and didn't see much on the antenna motor. I have power to the 3 wire connector. What wire from the radio turns the motor on and off? Is it the yellow one? Or is the 2 wire connector? I tried testing all the wires for power on and off using the radio switch, but couldn't get the power to switch off. Thanks Brad

    Have you got voltage at the antenna switch (left to the steering wheel)? Fuses are good? ...If you have not solved the problem yet please check my recent posting. For me it turned out that one wire to the radio was bad.

    Hi Brad,

    The 89 740 shows the pwr antenna connector with three wires
    1 A +12V wire Green/Red back to Fuse 5
    3 A +12V wire Green/Red control line to radio connector
    (This wire to internal relay coil in ant motor assy. to run the motor)
    4 A Ground wire to a point by left tail light

    Thus you need +12V at both 1 & 3 (and Gnd at 4) to run the motor.

      Well it isn't the antenna, must be the radio or wire. A simple way to check is to run a jumper wire from a known hot across the 2 terminals on the motor plug.
