hey guys!
I'm looking for a dual output flange with the down pipes. I already have the 4 into 2 manifold, and I
thought that instead of just installing the dual output into one pipe like the factory did why not just take each one separatly out to the rear bumper? maybe put a glass-pack on each one? Has anyone done this? I've been running with a header pipe setup, but seem to always have trouble with eventual cracks and leaks.... so I've decided to go back to the good'ol stock cast iron manifold. I want to keep as much
breathabillity as possible.... does anyone have a dual down pipe they will let go of ?

You have to join the 2 in to 1 else you won't get any header effect & they become peaky. If you look at other 4's that have dual exhaust, they have what is called an X-pipe to make it 2 into 1 back to 2 again.

Another example is Harley's, the chopper guys have two single pipes for looks & extra chug-chug sound, but at the drags they use 2 into 1. The Harley V-Rod looks like it has twin exhausts like a chopper, but it has a hidden X-pipe to make it a 2-1-2.

IPD says that because of resonance, etc a single pipe is as good as duals if
it is big enough. I think they recommend 2 1/8" or 2 ΒΌ".
